Learning Outcomes
On completion of the program, participants will be able to
- state and refute two common misconceptions about the use of accommodating students with disabilities in educational settings
- give three examples of physical barriers faced by students with disabilities in common school buildings, and offer a possible way to remove those barriers
- identify at least one intervention to assist a student having difficulty with each of the following educational activities:
- reading (holding book and turning pages)
- writing (producing intelligible text)
- examinations (completing test papers and other forms)
- performing and documenting mathematics problems
- discuss at least two important principles to be remembered when accommodating any student with a disability
